It all started with a $79 webcam back in 2006. I stumbled upon a girl making funny sketch comedy in her bedroom and posting them to this site called YouTube. If you had heard of that site at all back then, it was mostly known as a place to watch pirated TV clips. Little did I know that I would be entering a whole new world of user-generated video content, a world with a small but vibrant community that I would fall in love with. I found a passion in creating online videos, a hobby I could pursue on my own time and by my own rules.
In the following years, as my subscriber count grew, I didn't know where this would lead as there was no established path to follow, no rules or guide for what worked or didn't. It was like the wild west, and we early creators just had to figure it out through trial and error. And I did.
From 2010 to 2013, I worked part-time jobs alongside video creation, anything I could do to allow me to continue to create. Finally, I decided to go all in and give this everything I had. It was a leap of faith, but I knew in my heart that this was the best job in the world, and I wanted to keep it.
By 2015, everything changed. I had my first six-figure year and have consistently had six-figure years since then. I started presenting on expert panels at Google, the Canadian Media Producers Association, VidCon, TravelCon, the International Luxury Hoteliers Conference, and more.
I gained confidence in my skills as a creator and learned how to adapt to any changes the platforms threw at me (and there were lots). I learned through experience and perseverance what it takes to survive in this industry. In the 9 years since, this industry has only grown exponentially, providing even more opportunity and space for voices to be heard.

That's why I'm so excited for you, a fellow creator who has also seen how amazing this job is and wants more of it. You’ve seen how powerful it is to have a social following, whether it’s to help promote your business or to build yourself as your own brand. I see your passion and your desire to be successful, both monetarily and creatively, and I understand your struggles.
I know the challenges that lie ahead in this career path, and they can be daunting. Algorithm changes, the pressure to consistently produce content, public scrutiny, and the constant need to generate new ideas can all be exhausting.

For the past 13 years I’ve been one of the top travel vloggers, helping fellow travelers on their journeys. I've made hundreds of videos with all kinds of travel advice and tips, and I even wrote a 259-page e-book on how to travel. I have loved teaching my audience what I've learned from my experiences traveling to nearly 60 countries and how they can do the same. And now, I'm here to teach something else that I'm equally passionate about: content creation career longevity. It's something I've dedicated myself to for the past 18 years.
